Obituary for Jennie Palmieri
Jennie Nancy Palmieri, 105, of Brooklyn, NY passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Coney Island Hospital. Born in Sicily, she was the youngest of three sisters. Jennie came to America on the boat Regina D’Italia on May 12, 1921. From a very young age she was ahead of her time utilizing her entrepreneurial skills, but her greatest accomplishment was loving and taking care of her family.
Jennie saw and experienced a lot of good and a lot of bad in her 105 years on this planet (March 31, 1913 to January 28, 2019). We all knew this amazing woman for many years and we realize how special she was and that she was a gift to all of us.
Family was everything to Jennie, cherishing every moment she spent with them. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and will be forever in our hearts. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Nunziata and Michele Mattone; her beloved husband Frank Palmieri (1996); her sisters Lucy Volpi and Josephine Nigita; her cherished niece Marie and nephew Michael Lembo. Surviving is her loving nephew, Charles Volpi; seven great nephews, Mario, Vincent, Michael Salvatore, Michael Charles, Matthew and Mark; and one great niece Marisa. Jennie is also survived by six great-great Nephews and four great-great Nieces.
Viewing will be held Wednesday January 30, 2019 from 6:30-9:30 at Peter C. LaBella Funeral Home 2625 Harway Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11214. Funeral services will start with a prayer at the funeral home at 9:30 on Thursday, January 31, 2019 followed by 10:30 funeral liturgy at Most Precious Blood R.C. Church, in Brooklyn, NY. Interment will follow at Calvery Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
