Robert S. Sarutto, 59, of Staten Island, New York, passed away on April 1, 2020
due to Coronavirus complications.
Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 16 th , 1960, his family later moved
to Staten Island, New York. He attended Tottenville High School as well as The
DeVry Institute and The College of Staten Island.
Robert was married to Roxanne Rivera-Sarutto on July 24 th , 2004; they were
married 15 years.
Robert worked for the Metropolitan Transit Authority as an Elevator and Escalator
Maintainer, for over 23 years. He enjoyed his job and would always help his co-
workers. Robert had a great sense of humor and always had a big smile on his
face. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as traveling,
good conversations, and whiskey with a good cigar. Robert was also a dedicated
fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.
Robert is survived by his wife Roxanne and his loving parents Benjamin and
Catherine Sarutto, as well as beloved brother Steven, sister-in-law Millie and
cherished nephews Stephen, Christopher, and Anthony.
Robert’s cremation visitations and mass will be held in the future. Further
