My Father
My Father was an interesting Man. In my opinion he might have been one of the most interesting people I had ever met. When I was very young I was amazed by the fact that he knew so much about everything. He literally could answer anyone’s question about anything on almost any topic.
He knew how to fix cars, anything to do with mechanics and almost anything to do with home repairs.
He had an answer and an opinion on any subject and for me as a child he was the person you go to if you needed an answer or advice. My Father was always available to not just me, but to anyone at any time if you needed any type of help. He would wake up in the middle of the night and drive 100 miles if you got stuck somewhere or he would do anything in his power to leave no friend or family member stranded. People knew they could always count on him. My father was a people person. He loved being around people and that is why he had so many friends in so many different areas.
He picked peoples brains for the knowledge they had. He learned so many different things from so many and he had a talent for taking what they knew and making it better. My father has done so many different things in his life. He became a mechanic at an early age and worked for the Green Line Bus company. He practiced Mixed Martial arts before there was even a name for it just because his Karate School offered so many different styles of fighting and he had a true talent for it.
He learned to navigate the city because his uncle got him a job doing deliveries there when he was a kid. He managed my baseball team for years as a child and helped expand our travel team into different areas simply by stopping at other games he seen and introducing himself to the coaches.
He was there for me with Hockey, Track, and Boy Scouts along with so many other activities. He was one of the best sales people I ever met and also one of the best negotiators if you needed to get a discount. He played darts and has won quite a few championships. He loved to travel and see the world. He also became a registered Boxing coach and trained Golden Glove fighters. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and catching up over a few cups of coffee with sweet and low. He was a great Son, a great Brother a great Father and lastly a great Grandfather. He was everything to so many people and I cannot imagine life without him. He answered so many questions for us every day and if he was here now he would say “don’t worry if you ever have a question, Google it” and laugh.
I love my father and I am so sad we won’t be together anymore, but I know he will always be there looking down. I love you Dad.
